Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a K-Pot? A K-Pot is the Kevlar Pot (K-Pot) Helmet worn by our troops in battle or in danger areas. When turned upside down, it appears like a cappuccino bowl without the handle. :)
- Why Do You Only Sell On Amazon? K-Pot Coffee is a new start-up company. As time goes on and demand helps determine the proper way to go, our distribution methods may change. But for right now, it seems like the easiest way to go was to partner with Amazon, since their shipping and billing infrastructure are second to none. This way, you won't have to worry about your credit information, as we will never see it. Nor will we be asking you for your email address, since Amazon is very specific about limiting seller access to buyer information.
- Where Does Your Coffee Come From? K-Pot Coffee's Bold and Brave Blend is derived from beans located throughout Central and South America, as well as Indonesia. This blend actually helps to create a very aromatic (nose-friendly) blend that has an effect on you from the moment that you open the bag. When you smell it, you will know why we are so excited about it.
- Which Charities Do You Donate To? K-Pot Coffee was designed with the military in mind. Our coffee addictions were really fostered by the amount of coffee we used to drink during our days in the military. We thought that a gift-item bag of coffee beans with a military theme would be the perfect vehicle for raising money for veterans' charities. Originally, our goal was to raise money for one charity in particular. As time went on, we decided that there was a large group of veteran's charities that deserved attention, so the charities that we donate to will vary each month. Some will fit the theme of the season, such as Toys For Tots during December. Others will rotate through on a monthly basis. Ideally, we hope to be a vehicle for helping raise awareness of veterans' charities that aren't very well known about.
- How Do You Determine A Charity's Integrity? It's sad to say, but the last decade has seen an enormous increase in charity fraud, particularly with the military. In order to ensure that the money donated gets donated to a worthy charity, there are two primary things that we check for. First is the way that they are ranked on Military.com. They take appropriate measures to ensure that they only link to actual 501c(3) organizations that are in good standing. The second measure that we use is Charity Navigator. They use a series of things to give ratings to charities, including financial transparency. The combination of the two is how we determine which charities are eligible to receive our money and publicity.
- How Do We Know That You Are Donating Money To Charities? Another excellent question. At the top of this page, there is a link to a page we have labeled as "Archives." Every month, once we turn a profit, we will be placing information about our donation amounts, the profit percentage, the charity that received the money, and a picture/screenshot of the donation transaction to ensure everyone that we are accountable for the promises we make.
- What If I Don't Drink Coffee? Well, we at K-Pot Coffee are pretty sure that you know someone who does. Simply pass this website along to them. That would be just as helpful as if you bought some for yourself. :)
- Do You Have More Than One Product? We are just getting started here, so right now we put all of our time into one product that has the most appeal to the most people. As time goes on, we have plans to roll out a whole line of products that will include hardware and memorabilia.
- Can I Buy Your Coffee Beans And Send Them To Our Troops Overseas? You certainly can, and we actually have a paragraph or two written towards the bottom of our Operations Center page giving the details about how you can do it, including organizations that specialize in sending care packages overseas.
- Can I Find You On Social Media? You certainly can. Our Twitter handle is @KPotCoffee. Our Facebook fan page is @K-Pot Coffee. But we've found that the easiest method is to simply click on the "Tell A Friend" button sprinkled around our website and share us with your friends and family via email.
